Day 1: Consultation, Measurement, and Pattern Cutting

Your first appointment takes 60 to 90 minutes. The day begins with fabric selection from our 500-plus fabric library, which includes Italian mills (Loro Piana, Vitale Barberis Canonico, Cerruti, Scabal) and English worsteds (Holland and Sherry, Dormeuil). Style discussion covers lapel width, jacket length, trouser cut, working cuff buttons, and interior details such as lining color and pocket configuration.

Our master tailor then takes over 20 measurements by hand: chest, waist, hips, shoulder slope, sleeve length, back length, and posture notes such as arm hang and spine curvature. These measurements become your personal pattern, stored on file for future orders. Once measured, the pattern is drafted and hand-cut from your chosen fabric that same evening. The cloth is then basted together in preparation for your second appointment.

Day 2: Baste Fitting

Your jacket is partially assembled: the outer fabric is joined to the horsehair canvas interlining with long white basting stitches, sleeves are loosely attached, and the collar is pinned. You try it on. This fitting is the most important of the three because significant adjustments to shoulder, chest, waist suppression, and length are made now.

The garment is marked with chalk where changes are needed. Our tailors then take it apart, adjust the pattern, and reassemble it. Trousers are also fitted at this stage: waist, hip fit, seat, thigh, break at the shoe. The baste fitting typically takes 30 to 45 minutes. This is the stage where a fitted garment starts to feel like it was made for you specifically.

Day 3: Final Fitting and Hand-Finishing

The jacket is now complete except for hand-finishing. You try it on again to confirm the fit is correct. Once confirmed, our tailors complete:

• Hand-sewn sleeves and collar
• Hand-made buttonholes (typically 4 to 6 hours of work per garment)
• Embroidered initials inside the jacket
• Hand-picked linings and buttons attached
• Trouser hemming and final pressing

The finished suit is ready for pickup or delivery by end of day 3. If you have booked a shipping service, we can dispatch by DHL Express the same afternoon.

Why It Cannot Be Faster

Shops that offer “one-day suits” are not producing true bespoke garments. A canvassed jacket requires the baste fitting stage, which needs the outer fabric already assembled to a canvas interlining. Skipping this step means the garment is either fused (glued) or made from a pre-existing pattern with no real customization. Either way, it is not bespoke. According to the Wikipedia entry on Savile Row tailoring, member tailors of the Savile Row Bespoke Association are required to put at least 50 hours of hand labour into each two-piece suit, which is why traditional London bespoke can take weeks. What to Bring to Each Fitting

To make each fitting as efficient as possible:

• A suit shirt (or one you know fits well) for shoulder and sleeve reference
• Any existing garment that fits particularly well or poorly, so we can discuss what to preserve or correct

This is a rush schedule and requires that you commit to being available at specific times. Message us in advance to confirm this is feasible for your arrival date.

What Happens If You Do Not Like the Result

Because you approve every stage (fabric before cutting, fit at baste stage, final fit before hand-finishing), the finished garment reflects choices you have already signed off on. If a fit issue emerges at final fitting that cannot be corrected quickly, we can extend the turnaround to a fourth day to make adjustments. This is rare, but we prioritize a correct fit over hitting a specific delivery day.

Multiple Garments in the Same Visit

Ordering more than one suit, or a suit plus complementary garments (shirts, overcoat), extends the turnaround only slightly. We can produce:

• 2 suits in the same 3-day window if measurements are shared
• A suit plus 2 to 3 shirts in the same turnaround
• A suit plus overcoat, though the overcoat may require an additional half-day
